Police are seeking the public's assistance after two daytime sexual assaults in Brampton's Holmes Channel Park.

Peel Regional Police have sent up a command post near the park on Lormel Gate, after a sex assault on Wednesday, that investigators believe was committed by an unidentified male involved in another similar incident earlier this month.

"We're reaching out to the public, who we need to work together with," Derek Vammus From Special Victims Unit from Peel Regional Police Special Victims Unit said at a news conference Thursday morning.

Vammus said the two assaults happened at approximately 4 p.m. on May 14 and May 28, and the suspects in both cases had similar descriptions.

He added that the victims were "in the same age range, about 20 years old," and that the suspect attacked them both in the same way.

"They were both initially grabbed from behind."

A composite sketch of the suspect has been released. He is described as a black male in his late teens to early 20s, standing five-foot-five tall with a stocky build. He has a medium complexion, a wide nose and black curly hair. He was clean shaven, and was wearing a hoodie and a red hat. He may have been wearing jeans at the time of the attacks.
