A clearer image of a suspect in the sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl on a TTC bus earlier this month has been released.
Police previously said that the victim boarded the 168 Symington bus at Dundas West Station on the morning of Oct. 3 and was followed onto the vehicle by the suspect, who proceeded to sit next to her.
The suspect then allegedly sexually assaulted the girl, police said.
On Oct. 5 police released grainy surveillance images of the suspect.
Police, however, have now released a clearer image that they say was discreetly taken by a passenger, who observed the man deliberately moving to sit beside a teenaged girl on the Line 2 subway on Sept. 26.
The passenger sent the image to police after recognizing the man from the surveillance camera images that were distributed on Oct. 5.
The suspect is described as having his right arm in a black sling and was last seen wearing a distinctive black baseball cap with a “15” emblem in the center front of the hat in red numbers and a white border trim as well as an unknown white emblem at the back of the hat.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at (416) 808-1100 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at (416) 222-TIPS (8477).
