BURLINGTON, Ont. - A home invasion in Burlington this morning ended with a man being sent to hospital and four suspects fleeing empty-handed.

Police say four armed men broke through the front door of a Dryden Avenue home at 2 a.m. and rounded up the residents -- two brothers in their 20s.

Police say the victims were led to the basement and restrained and that one of the suspects assaulted one of the brothers, demanding drugs and money.

The suspects ransacked the home and began stuffing electronics and other valuables into a duffle bag.

But police say the suspects fled when they realized officers were in the neighbourhood -- and left all the property behind, including their weapons.

One victim was treated for minor injuries at Joseph Brant Hospital and has been released. The other victim was unharmed.
