Toronto police are investigating a smash-and-grab robbery after a pickup truck crashed through the front of an Etobicoke sporting goods store early Tuesday morning.

Shortly after midnight, officers responded to the Sporting Life store at Sherway Gardens, where a Ford truck drove through the front entrance and wound up inside the store.

The suspects ditched the truck and fled in a waiting vehicle. Police have not said how much merchandise was taken.

The crash caused a significant amount of damage, leaving a trail of debris and shattered glass inside the store.
