Police say they are looking for witnesses after a 20-year-old man was stabbed in a motel in Richmond Hill on Wednesday night.

York Regional Police say they were called to a motel on Yonge Street, north of Gamble Road at 8:30 p.m.

They found a man suffering from a single stab wound. He was taken to hospital and his injuries were later found to be non-life-threatening.

Police say they have spoken with several people who were involved in events that led to the incident but the investigation is still ongoing.

Anyone who was in the area of the motel before 8:30 p.m. who saw any suspicious activity is urged to come forward to police and call 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7241 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
