Police have identified the father of five who was fatally stabbed outside a Toronto Community Housing Complex in Etobicoke last Saturday.

Mohamed Yay, 40, of Toronto, was stabbed more than once after a physical altercation with a group of individuals, police said in a statement Tuesday afternoon.

The stabbing occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. at an Etobicoke housing complex on The West Mall, near Highway 427 and Rathburn Road. Yay was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have released few details about the stabbing but said they believe the attack was targeted.

Police have not released a description of any possible suspects.
