Durham police have confirmed that a body pulled from Frenchman’s Bay in Pickering on Sunday is that of missing Ajax teen Mitchell Somerville.
Det. Dave Mason said that an autopsy confirmed that the body was the 17-year-old.
The teen was reported missing last month. He was last seen at a McDonald’s in Whitby on Sept. 21.
Mason said that foul play was not suspected and that it appears as if the teen entered the water voluntarily.
Officials are still waiting for the results of a toxicology test, said Mason.
