Forensic investigators are digging through the concrete floor of a barn northeast of Toronto, where it's believed the bodies of three murdered boys were buried in the 1950s.

The investigation has not been deemed a homicide, but Durham Regional Police confirmed to CTV Toronto on Thursday they are searching the farm in connection with recent unconfirmed media reports that suggest boys may have been murdered there.

The farm is located near Cannington, Ont., located approximately 110 kilometres northeast of Toronto.

Investigators say ground penetrating radar recently used by media showed some anomalies underneath the barn floor. Forensic experts, however, say those anomalies could be anything – such as a rock, animal bones or a buried tree stump.

Police have not found anything at the site. They are expected to continue their search Friday.
