Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit was probing an early-morning collision involving a police cruiser in Mississauga on Wednesday morning.

Peel Regional Police said four cars, including a marked police cruiser, were involved in the crash at McLaughlin Road South and Eglinton Avenue at about 1:30 a.m.

Police said they could not comment further on the crash because SIU had been called to investigate.

A minivan and a sedan were seen damaged in the middle of the intersection following the incident.

Some minor injuries were reported in the crash.

Later in the day, the SIU said it had dropped its investigation into the collision because it did not meet its requierments.
