Police have charged a man and a teen who allegedly "stalked" people in the east end before mugging them.

The reported thefts happened over the past two weeks in various east-end spots. Police say one robbery took place in the area of Victoria Park and Danforth Avenues, and another near the area of Eglinton Avenue East and Birchmount Road.

"In the past two weeks, a boy and a man stalked victims in various locations," police said in a statement released Thursday afternoon. "They removed or ripped gold necklaces from the victims’ necks, including one from a five-year-old."

During one of the robberies, police said a knife was used to threaten a person.

Police arrested the man and the teen on Wednesday.

Aekwon Murray, 18, was scheduled to appear at Old City Hall on Thursday. A 17-year-old Aurora boy, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was also scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.

Police believe there may be more victims. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-5400, 416-808-4100, or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477)
