Police are searching for two more suspects after making one arrest Tuesday in connection to a break-and-enter investigation at five synagogues and several convenience stores in the North York area.

Police gave more details at a news conference Wednesday morning and explained how the break and enters took place.

Insp. Scott Baptist said the five synagogues and stores -- located between Dufferin and Bathurst Streets and Wilson and Lawrence Avenues -- were broken into between midnight until 7 a.m.

He said the break-ins occurred between February 11 and May 17, when one suspect was arrested around the intersection of Eglinton Avenue and Chaplin Crescent, in the Forest Hill neighbourhood. He was charged with 26 counts of breaking and entering and two counts of vehicle theft.

Insp. Baptist alleges that the suspects stole cash, jewelry, lottery tickets, two vehicles and anything else they could find of value.

Det.-Sgt. Dan Sabadics gave an example of how the suspects allegedly scoped out a property to break into on Bloor Street. He alleges they openly searched the area on bikes and do not “tend to hide themselves” before deciding on a target location.

Joshua Moskaluk, 37, was charged in the early morning and appeared in court later on Tuesday. He was taken back into police custody that day and is scheduled to appear in court again on May 25.

Police said two vehicles that may have been stolen during the string of break-and-enters have since been recovered.

Police continue to search for two suspects that they have identified as 38-year-old Brian Eric Rutherford and 43-year-old Chance Jeanson.

They are both described as white males. Rutherford is described as having medium build, dark brown hair and brown eyes. He is around five-feet-ten inches and weighs around 170 pounds. He was also described as unshaven.

Jeanson was described as having a thin build and light brown hair. He is around five-feet-eight-inches tall and weighs around 150 pounds. He was also described as unshaven.
