Ontario Provincial Police say a pilot is dead after an ultralight propeller plane crashed just outside Guelph, Ont. on Saturday afternoon.

At 3:45 p.m., emergency crews were called to a wooded area near Watson Road South in Puslinch Township for a report of a plane crash.

The lone occupant of the plane was pronounced dead at the scene. The pilot is not being identified pending notification of next of kin.

Crews had to use an ATV to access the crash site.

A team from the Transportation Safety Board has been dispatched to the scene.
