The eastbound lanes of Highway 401 in Port Hope, Ont., have been re-opened following a fatal collision involving a pedestrian.
Ontario Provincial Police say the pedestrian was struck by an eastbound vehicle, west of Ontario Street, shortly before 2:45 p.m. He was declared dead a short time later.
It's not yet clear why the pedestrian was on the roadway.
A stretch of the 401 was temporarily closed as police investigated the crash.
