Christine Elliott says if she wins the PC leadership next month, and the next election, she would freeze Ontario's minimum wage.

She says seven increases in the wage in six years is "far too many" and business owners need predictability when budgeting.

Elliott, herself a small business owner, says the government ought to help businesses, not hinder them.

The rate rose 75 cents at the end of March to $9.50 an hour and is scheduled to rise another 75 cents next year to $10.25.
