A man has been charged in connection to the murder of Anna Karissa Grandine, 30.

Police say they responded to a call on Oct. 17, 2011 that a woman was in distress in a home on Mash Road, near Danforth Road and St. Clair East.

Grandine, 30, was found in the home and was taken to hospital, but was pronounced dead upon her arrival.

Police said she drowned.

An obituary said Anna Karissa wed her husband in October 2008 and the couple was expecting their first child.

Her husband had served as a pastor at Ennerdale Road Baptist Church near Eglinton Avenue and Dufferin Street.

Police charged Philip Grandine, 25, with first-degree murder on Tuesday. He was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
