One person is dead following a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 401 near Highway 400 overnight.
It happened in the westbound express lanes at around 1 a.m. Thursday.
Police tell CP24 that it appears a car was slowed or stopped on the highway when it was struck from behind by an oncoming vehicle. One female was pronounced dead at the scene while another person was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The westbound lanes of the highway were shut down earlier this morning but all lanes have since reopened.
