The Office of the Fire Marshal is expected to attend the scene today of a three-alarm fire at a Golden Mile electronics store.

The fire broke out at the business located on Warden Avenue near Upton Road at around 7:30 p.m. last night.

At least 85 firefighters and more than 20 trucks were sent to battle the flames.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries when one of the walls of the building collapsed.

Multiple small explosions were also reported at the site.

No one was believed to have been inside the building at the time of the fire.

On Tuesday morning, Toronto Fire Services District Chief Brian Kelly said he expects OFM investigators to be on the scene today.

“They will come today. They will assess the scene. They won’t do any investigation until the scene is safe,” Kelly said, adding that there may still be some structural issues with the building.

The Ministry of the Environment is also at the scene, monitoring water runoff and air quality.

“Anyone in the area should probably keep their windows closed,” Kelly added.

While fire officials said they are not aware of anything toxic in the smoke, Kelly said keeping window shut will help with the smell.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
