Toronto police are investigating after shots were fired near Toronto's Kensington Market neighbourhood early Saturday morning.

Officers were called to the area of Augusta Avenue and Grange Avenue at around 1:45 a.m. Saturday for reports of shots fired.

When they arrived on scene, police found four shell casings in the area.

After reviewing security camera footage, police say they observed three male suspects fleeing the area in a waiting vehicle at around the same time the shots were reportedly fired.

The suspect vehicle, described by police as a mid-size, newer-model SUV that is possibly silver or copper in colour, was spotted heading westbound on Grange Avenue toward Denison Avenue.

Police have not yet released suspect descriptions.
