A Toronto police officer was rushed to hospital after his cruiser was sandwiched between two dump trucks near the Distillery District on Tuesday.

Police say the incident happened around 11:30 a.m., in the Cherry Street and Lakeshore Boulevard area, after the cruiser was rear ended by a dump truck. The officer then drove into another dump truck.

The officer, who was assigned to the Pan Am Games, was transported to hospital in stable condition.
