The Town of Oakville, Ont., has nabbed a 2014 Google eTown Award, an honour that recognizes the digital savviness of a community's businesses.

Google Canada made the announcement on Wednesday. The Ontario "digital capital" was one of five communities across Canada who was recognized this year. Other 2014 winners include Banff, Alta., Chester, N.S., Rosemere, Que., and Whistler, B.C.
