CALEDONIA, Ont. - A native-run smoke shop on disputed land in Caledonia is being shut down after a clash last weekend in which two people were injured.
Haldimand County official Don Boyle says the move is part of a continuing effort to `restore peace and harmony' to the town.
Fighting broke out last Saturday at the shop at the end of Caledonia's main street, which some residents contend is on land not owned by Six Nations.
However, Six Nations officials insist the shop is on their land.
The shop is about a kilometre away from a former housing development which aboriginal protesters have occupied since February 2006.
Provincial police have not laid any charges.
