A 47-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of two employees at a construction company near Schomberg, Ont. on Tuesday morning.

The bodies of the two victims were discovered without vital signs at about 10:30 a.m. at James Elliot Underground Construction Inc. on Lloydtown-Aurora Road, east of Hwy. 27.

One of the victims was pronounced dead on scene shortly after police arrived while the other died later in hospital.

The two victims have been identified as James Wilson, a senior from Orangeville, Ont. and William Allan Jones from Schomberg. Both were 76.

A post-mortem exam has been scheduled to determine the cause of both deaths.

Police said there didn't seem to be any problems between staff, but Duty. Insp. Gary Miner said investigators are looking through the employee list to see if the murder may have been centered on a dispute.

A 47-year-old man from Schomberg faces second-degree murder charges in connection with the incident.

It is not yet known whether Abernathy knew the victims or was an employee of the company.

Investigators with York Regional Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Homicide Unit at 1-866-287-5025 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
