A 27-year-old man is dead after his motorcycle struck a sign on the Highway 401 on-ramp at Markham Road Monday afternoon.
Ontario Provincial Police say the motorcyclist was pronounced dead on the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The on-ramp was expected to be closed for several hours while police investigate.
OPP say this was the fourth fatal motorcycle crash in Ontario over the long weekend.
On Saturday, off-duty Peel Regional Police Const. Ewa Domagalska was involved in a motorcycle crash near Orangeville. She later succumbed to her injuries in hospital.
