TORONTO -- If you packed away your snow shovel and winter coat, you may need to haul them out again as winter delivers one more cruel blast across southern and eastern Ontario.
The warm air that recently enveloped the region is being pushed out by a sharp Arctic cold front accompanied by stiff northwesterly winds.
Environment Canada said temperatures would plunge to below freezing by the morning in some areas and during the day on Tuesday.
And, as it turns colder, rain was expected to change to freezing rain and ice pellets and then to snow over southern Ontario by morning, and over eastern Ontario through Tuesday.
Environment Canada says five to 10 centimetres of snow was expected across much of southern Ontario for the morning commute and over Eastern Ontario through the day.
Ten to 15 centimetres was are expected for some areas east of Georgian Bay. The forecast called for the snow to end over all regions by late Tuesday.
