TORONTO -- A 43-year-old woman has been charged after police allege she hit a Toronto parking officer with her car this morning.

Police say the parking officer was patrolling in midtown Toronto and noticed a black car with two different licence plates.

They say a woman walked up to the car, and when the officer approached her, she drove away, knocking the officer to the ground.

Police say she was arrested near her home shortly afterward.

Christine Fisher of Toronto is charged with assault with a weapon, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime and using plates not authorized for a vehicle.
