Two Toronto teenagers face a number of charges, including armed robbery, after a man was carjacked at gunpoint Monday evening.

Toronto Police say the carjacking happened in the Islington Avenue and Finch Avenue West area at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Two teens, a 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man, approached another man on his driveway. Police say he was cornered up against his car and a gun was pointed in his direction. One of the teens then grabbed the man's keys.

Police say the man was pistol-whipped with the firearm. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the two teens fled the area with the stolen vehicle. They were later stopped by police on Black Creek Drive, south of Lawrence Avenue. Police say a fully-loaded handgun with one round in the chamber was found in the vehicle.

A 16-year-old boy faces a number of charges, including possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, possession of property obtained by crime and armed robbery. The young offender cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

He was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday afternoon.

Leon McIntyre, 18, also faces a number of charges, including possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, possession of property obtained by crime, armed robbery and assault with a weapon.

He was also scheduled to appear in court Tuesday afternoon.
