TORONTO - A man is dead following a Sunday evening shooting at a convenience store in Mississauga, capping off a weekend that saw another man die and two others suffer injuries by gunfire in the Toronto area.
The Sunday shooting occurred around 6:30 p.m. at a plaza on North Service Road, near Cawthra Road and the QEW.
Police found a car riddled with bullets and a man without vital signs, who died in hospital.
He has been identified as Huy Duc (Andy) Nguyen, 41, of Brampton.
On Saturday night, 28-year-old Jermaine Smith died after being shot at a community event near Dundas and Jane Streets.
A 23-year-old man remains in critical condition after being shot several times near Keele Street and Sheppard Avenue. And a 22-year-old man has non-life threatening injuries after being shot in the leg in the Eglinton Avenue and Kennedy Road area.
