The Toronto Transit Commission is holding its annual “Stuff-the-Bus” toy drive to help provide families across the city with gifts this holiday season.

Six TTC buses will be parked in various locations around the city where donors can drop off new, unwrapped toys.

All donations will go towards the Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness, a charity that aims to prevent abuse through public awareness and education. The organization will then distribute the toys to families in need.

The three-day event kicked off on Friday with TTC CEO Andy Byford accepting donations at a bus parked outside the Corus Quay Building.

Donations for Stuff-the-Bus can be dropped off at the following locations:

  • 1900 Eglinton Ave. East on Friday, Nov. 27, noon to 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 28, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, Nov.29, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • 3132 Eglinton Ave. East on Saturday, Nov. 28 and Sunday, Nov.29, 9 a.m. to 5 a.m. both days.
  • 799 Milner Ave. on Saturday, Nov. 28 and Sunday, Nov.29, 9 a.m. to 5 a.m. both days.
  • 2525 St. Clair Ave. West on Saturday, Nov. 28 and Sunday, Nov. 29, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
  • 165 North Queen St. on Saturday, Nov. 28 and Sunday, Nov. 29, 9 a.m. to 5 a.m. both days.

TTC bus operator Kevin Kane and his team of volunteers have been running Stuff-the-Bus since 2007. Since then, the drive has collected approximately $300,000 worth of toys for 13,000 children.

This year, the group hopes to raise at least $70,000 worth of donations.
