A Toronto bus driver has been disciplined after a dashboard-mounted camera captured him running a red light.

The dashcam video posted on Youtube shows the bus driving through the intersection of Lakeshore Boulevard and Superior Avenue, while all other traffic is stopped.

One male pedestrian is seen crossing the street, then a second man starts crossing. The second pedestrian can be seen quickening his pace to get out of the path of the bus.

A timestamp indicates the video was recorded at 12:53 p.m on Oct. 21, the same day it was posted online.

In an email, Toronto Transit Commission spokesman Brad Ross said he'd seen the video, and the operator had been identified.

He did not disclose the driver's identity, but said that "appropriate disciplinary action" had been taken.

"There is no reasonable explanation that would address such a blatant violation of the Highway Traffic Act," he wrote.

"We took action immediately following an internal investigation."
