Toronto took part in a global initiative called 100in1Day on Saturday, which focuses on creating positive uses for various public spaces around the city.
The point of the project is to make hundreds of changes to communities in one day, instead of waiting for the change to happen.
Participants register online and staff from the 100in1Day team help to figure out how to make it happen. This year, there are 110 ‘urban interventions’ in Toronto.
Projects range from educating visitors about vermicomposting -- composting with worms -- at the Evergreen Brickworks Farmers Market to live music and activities on Queen Street W.
People posted pictures of projects from around the city on Twitter.
