BRAMPTON, Ont. -- Police say three people found dead at a Brampton, Ont., home over the Thanksgiving weekend died in a double-murder suicide.

The bodies of 61-year-old Hashmukhlal Mistry, his wife, 57-year-old Manjulaben Mistry, and his 91-year-old father were found after police got a call from a family member regarding the well-being of a relative.

Peel Region police say investigators have determined that the 61-year-old Hashmukhlal Mistry murdered his wife and then his father before killing himself.

Police are not releasing the exact cause of their deaths out of consideration for surviving family members.

Peel Regional Police Const. Lilly Fitzpatrick says Mistry had been having some issues with depression recently but there was nothing that led family or friends to believe that he had any intention of harming anybody else or himself.

She says the entire situation has been "devastating" for Mistry's family.

No charges have been laid and police say their investigation is completed.
