Toronto police are searching for a suspect and witnesses a week after a woman was sexually assaulted in a field near Finch subway station.

A 30-year-old woman was walking in the area of Finch Avenue and Bathurst Street when she was attacked, police said.

The attack allegedly happened in the hydro field corridorthat stretches from Finch Station on Yonge Street to Bathurst Street at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11.

The woman reported that a man approached her from behindand threw her to the groundbefore the sexual assault.

Her attacker is described as a black man aged between 30 and 35-years-old. He is approximately 5-foot-10, with short black hair and facial hair on his lower jaw. He was last seen wearing dark clothing and a dark hoodie.

Police said they believe there were people in the area who may have witnessed the attack.
