Police are dismantling a meth lab in Brampton after it was raided by police on Thursday night.

The RCMP are leading the investigation, which is taking place at a home on Georgian Road, in the Chinguacousy Road and Bovaird Drive West area.

Police say the meth lab was located in the basement of the home and is “a mess” but not operational.

“There are lots of bags of toxic waste, chemicals, residue everywhere,” said RCMP Sgt. Brent Hill.

Police have not said whether or not they have arrested anyone in connection to this lab.

The detached home on a quiet street in Brampton is located less than 100 metres from James Potter Public School.

Sgt. Hill says operating a meth lab is “very dangerous.”

“You’re following a recipe… but when things go wrong, they go wrong real quick and with tragic consequences,” Sgt. Hill said.

Police are not saying when the lab was last operational.
