Police are seeking witnesses after a skateboarder in Oshawa sustained life-threatening injuries during a collision on Saturday night.

The 20-year-old was riding east on his board when it collided with an eastbound red Chevrolet that was driven by a 71-year-old man, who was uninjured in the crash, according to police.

It happened just before midnight on King Street in Oshawa.

The skateboarder was first transported to a local hospital and then to a Toronto-area trauma hospital with life-threatening injuries. As of Sunday morning, he remained in serious but stable condition, police say.
