Toronto police are investigating a historic sexual assault case -- one that involved girls as young as five -- after new developments suggest there may be more victims.

Police allege that a man sexually assaulted multiple girls and women in the Toronto area over a period of 1990 to 2010. The victims were between the ages of five and 35. In one of the sexual assaults, police say drugs may have been used.

Juan Moran was arrested in 2013. The then-45 year-old was charged with:

  • Seven counts of sexual assault
  • Five counts of sexual interference
  • Sexual exploitation
  • Invitation to sexual touching
  • Forcible confinement

Police appealed to the public Tuesday, saying in a statement that "recent developments in the investigation have led police to believe there may be other victims.
