A person is dead following a stabbing in Toronto's York neighbourhood on Tuesday night.

Toronto Emergency Medical Services told CTV Toronto that one person is dead, and police said a second has been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Neither victim has been identified by police.

The stabbing happened on Lanark Avenue between Oakwood and Glenholme Avenues shortly after 10 p.m.

Four ambulances responded to the call, and police are investigating the situation.

A section of Eglinton Avenue West between Glenholme and Oakwood was closed for the investigation.
