TORONTO - Police have charged a 37-year-old man in relation to a spate of bank robberies in Toronto.

They allege the man robbed seven banks in the course of one week all over the city.

Police say the man would approach the teller, show a note saying he was armed and demand money before fleeing.

Last Wednesday a bank was robbed in the city's west end before a suspect was arrested on the subway by transit police.

Ivan McManus, of no fixed address, has been charged with seven counts of robbery.

He had his first court appearance last week.
