Jurors in the first-degree murder trial of Toronto rapper Mark Garfield Moore began deliberations on Thursday.

The alleged serial killer is accused of murdering four men in a span of 75 days in 2010. He has pleaded not guilty to all four charges.

The Crown has previously painted the homicides as a killing spree. The first shooting happened on Sept. 10, 2010 when Jahmeel Spence was fatally gunned down in an alley after purchasing a can of ice tea from a convenience store. He was at a family party prior to the shooting, police said.

Approximately three weeks later, two other men, Courthney Facey and Mike James, were also shot in an alley -- this time in the area of Weston Road and Lawrence Avenue West. Police say the 31-year-old Moore didn't know Spence, Facey or James.

The aspiring rapper, who often sang about money, guns and the gang lifestyle, did know Carl Cole. He was shot in a parking lot of a Scarborough apartment building on Nov. 24, 2010.

Police say two guns were used in all four shootings.

Moore is currently serving a 12-year sentence for a violent Toronto robbery.
