TORONTO -- A former clerk at the Rouge Valley hospital group in southern Ontario has pleaded guilty to one count of unregistered trading.
The Ontario Securities Commission says in a release that Shaida Bandali of Pickering, Ont., acknowledged in court Monday that between Jan. 1, 2010, and March 31, 2014, she engaged in the business of trading in securities without being registered to do so.
The commission alleged she breached the confidentiality policies of her employer -- the Rouge Valley Hospital -- by accessing, copying or distributing personal data of maternity patients to one or more Registered Education Savings Plan representatives.
The financial regulator also alleged Bandali created investor lists using unauthorized access to such information and sold them to RESP agents for cash.
Bandali is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 13 in Toronto.
