AMHERSTVIEW, Ont. - A man and a woman are facing charges after police say two suspects got into a Kingston-area apartment building by claiming to be police officers.

Provincial police say many tenants in the Amherstview building were awakened at about 4 a.m. last week by a couple in the lobby who allegedly buzzed their intercoms, saying they were police and asking to be let in.

It's alleged the pair got in and then forced their way into two separate units after identifying themselves as police officers with a search warrant and telling the occupants they were under arrest.

Two suspects were arrested in Kingston following a joint investigation by Kingston police and Napanee OPP.

Daniel Scott, 34, of no fixed address, and Chantal Arsenault, 36, of Kingston are both charged with two counts of personating a peace officer and break and enter with intent.
