Toronto's cherry blossoms in High Park may have not hit peak bloom yet, but that hasn't stopped people from sharing images of the delicate pink blossoms on social media.

Photographs of the cherry blossoms, also known as sakura cherry trees, have been dotting social media over the past few days in anticipation of the full bloom. According to High Park Nature Centre peak bloom is expected to start Wednesday.

According to the City of Toronto, cherry blossoms typically bloom in late April or early May, and the flowers last between four and 10 days, depending on the weather conditions.

The impressive display of the flowers, along with their intoxicating smell, usually brings out hundreds of people to High Park and has become an annual viewing ritual.
