If you're planning on dressing up for Halloween today, consider incorporating some rain gear into your costume as Environment Canada predicts periods of rain throughout the day. The daytime high is expected to be 7 C, and temperatures will fall to a low of 3 C Friday night.

TRAFFIC

Traffic is building in Mississauga and Scarborough as early commuters make their way toward the downtown core.

Along Highway 401, traffic is slowest between Meadowvale Road and Kennedy Road heading west, and Dixie Road and Highway 404 heading east.

Traffic is also building along Highway 404 and the Don Valley Parkway, concentrated around the 401.

Along the lake shore, the eastbound Gardiner Expressway is already moving at a crawl from its base at Highway 427 to Strachan Avenue. Westbound traffic is smooth so far, but will begin building soon between Yonge Street and Strachan.

CBC hires third-party company to probe Ghomeshi allegations

The CBC is hiring an outside company to probe allegations of abuse at the hands of ex-radio star Jian Ghomeshi. In a memo issued to staff on Thursday, the broadcasting corporation’s executive vice-president of English services called the reports about Ghomeshi “extremely disturbing.” At least nine women have come forward to allege abuse by him. The allegations range from beating and choking, to sexual harassment.

Person of interest sought in Canada’s Wonderland parking lot stabbing

A person of interest is being sought in connection with a double stabbing in a parking lot at Canada’s Wonderland. Police released images on Thursday. The stabbing occurred on Oct. 26. Police say two male victims were found suffering from stab wounds in the parking lot. One of them succumbed to his injuries at the scene, and the other remains in hospital in stable condition.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are in Ohio tonight, where they will face off against the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Nationwide Arena. The puck drops at 7 p.m. ET.
