Friends, family, strangers honour slain soldier
Condolences continue to pour in for Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, the young soldier who was fatally shot in Ottawa. On Thursday, one day after the attack, friends, family and strangers left flowers and signed cards for the 24-year-old at memorials outside his family home in Hamilton, Ont., and at an infantry reserve where he trained. The base, located near Hamilton, was also visited by Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, who described Cirillo as a "fine young man."
Beefed up police presence to continue in Toronto

The move is aimed at reassuring residents, and there is no specific threat to the city, Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair said earlier this week. Residents are nevertheless encouraged to report any unusual or suspicious behaviour to police or security guards.
