Three suspects are facing second-degree murder charges after a father of five was fatally stabbed outside a Toronto Community Housing Complex in August.

In a statement released on Friday, police say the three suspects were arrested the previous day. They have been charged in connection with the death of Mohamed Yay, 40.

Police previously said Yay was stabbed more than once after a physical altercation with a group of individuals in The West Mall and Holiday Drive area. It happened on Aug. 9 at approximately 3 a.m.

When police arrived on scene, Yay was found with life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Brent Nisula, 23, and Nicholas Brennan, 24, both of Toronto, have been charged with second-degree murder.

Brandon Wilson, 24, of Mississauga, is also facing a second-degree murder charge.
