Toronto Police are searching for a man who stabbed a fellow TTC passenger in the head after an argument on a Parkdale streetcar early Monday afternoon.

The stabbing happened at about 12:50 p.m. when a fight erupted between two men riding a streetcar near Queen Street and Dowling Avenue, Const. Tony Vella told ctvtoronto.ca.

One of the men involved was brandishing a knife and used it to stab the other in the forehead, police said. The 30-year-old assailant fled the streetcar shortly afterwards.

The 25-year-old victim was transported to hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

Investigators accompanied by police dogs are now searching for a black male in cut-off jeans and a brown jacket in the area around Leopold Avenue.

Initial reports suggest three people were involved in the argument. Vella said it is not yet known what the men were fighting about.
