A man is in hospital following an early morning shooting in North York, paramedics say.
Police responded to reports of gunfire in the area of Jane Street and Falstaff Avenue at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Inside an apartment building, officers found a male suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but police say his condition has since improved and he is expected to survive.
Police have not yet released any suspect information and are still investigating the incident.
