A man has died and a second is injured following an industrial accident at a construction site in Markham.
Emergency crews were called to the scene at Birchmount Road and Enterprise Boulevard at approximately 7 a.m.
They were told that two men had been working in a mechanical lift when they were both injured. York Regional Police said they believe the lift may have collapsed.
One of the men was pronounced dead, while the second was rushed to hospital where he remains in serious condition.
The Ministry of Labour has been notified.
