An east-end resident says he and his daughter managed to escape without injuries after bullets came flying through a Riverside townhouse early this morning.

Police were first called to Don Mt. Court, located in the area of Dundas Street and Broadview Avenue, after receiving reports about the sound of gunshots.

When officers arrived, they found one of the townhouses riddled with bullet holes.

Charles, who was visiting the townhouse at the time of the incident, said he was heading to the front door when he noticed some food on the kitchen counter and decided to eat some.

“As soon as I started to eat it, the gunshots started coming through the window,” he told CP24 Thursday morning.

“They saw me because I was going to go to the door.”

He said the bullets that came through the kitchen window missed him by about six inches and his daughter, who was also inside when the gunshots rang out, was nearly struck by a shot that passed through the living room.

The incident comes just days after shots were fired outside a townhouse on Hamilton Street, located just around the corner from the residence on Don Mt. Court.

Police have not said if they believe the two shootings are connected and investigators have not released any information on possible suspects.
