A 26-year-old Toronto man faces four robbery charges in connection with a series of bank robberies in the Bloor Street West area last month.

According to police, three banks were robbed by the same person on Bloor Street, between Lansdowne and Ossignton avenues, on March 5 and March 14.

In each case, a man entered the banks and handed a teller a note indicating that it was a robbery and demanding cash.

During each robbery the suspect wore a hooded sweater with the hood pulled over his head obscuring his face.

On Tuesday, a suspect was arrested by police.

Leonardo Peralta, of Toronto, is charged with four counts of robbery.

Police said the fourth robbery charge may stem from the robbery of an individual while a bank was being robbed.

Peralta was scheduled to appear in court this morning.
