TORONTO -- A man is facing criminal charges after a pedestrian was allegedly pushed into the street and struck by a taxi in downtown Toronto.

Police say a dispute between two men just after 1 a.m. Saturday led one man to shove the other in front of the oncoming car.

It's believed the victim was dragged behind the cab for three to five metres.

A few hours later, police arrested 44-year-old Kembi Manonga of Toronto.

He is charged with aggravated assault and criminal negligence causing harm.
